The Unlimited plan has no minute quota, so you can transcribe as much as you need for everyday work. This policy exists so that a very small number of accounts cannot slow the Service down for everyone else. Regular users will not notice it. It is part of our Terms of Service.
1. Monthly limits
Limits apply per account to each calendar month (UTC) and are counted separately for two kinds of work:
- Meeting recording: up to 30 hours of meetings recorded by the recorder.
- Files and video: up to 100 hours of audio and video files that you upload.
Usage is counted from the length of completed transcriptions in the current month. Limits are set per account: we may raise them on request or adjust them if the Service changes, and we will tell you in advance if the standard limits change.
2. Statuses
Your account has one of two statuses:
- Normal: you are within both limits. Nothing changes.
- Exceeded: you are above at least one limit this month.
3. What happens when the limit is exceeded
Nothing is deleted or blocked, and the work that is already done stays available. New recordings are still accepted, but their processing starts after a delay while they wait in the queue:
- at least 1 hour;
- plus 1 more hour for every 10% by which you are over the limit (for example, about 2 hours at 10% over and about 6 hours at 50% over);
- never more than 24 hours.
The Billing page shows your usage against the limits and the current delay. We send you one email when the status changes to Exceeded.
4. How the status resets
We check your usage after every finished transcription and once a day. As soon as your usage is within the limits again, the status returns to Normal on its own, and at the latest at the start of the next calendar month. You do not need to do anything.
5. Free plan
The Free plan is limited by its monthly minute quota instead (see the Pricing section). Those limits are far below the fair-use limits, so the delay does not apply to it.
6. Misuse
Fair use is about volume. Separate from it, the acceptable-use rules in the Terms apply: you must not resell or share access to the Service, create several accounts to avoid limits, or use automation to push files in bulk. If we see such use we may restrict or close the account.
7. Need more?
If your work regularly needs more than these limits, write to support@transcribee.io and describe your use. We can usually find a solution, including higher limits.
